Competitive healthcare in Europe: strategies for workforce, chronic diseases, and innovation

The European healthcare systems face critical challenges, including workforce shortages, rising chronic diseases, and the need to improve patient outcomes in a sustainable way. At the same time, competitiveness is near the top of the agenda of many policymakers following the 2024 report by Mario Draghi where healthcare, and the pharmaceutical sector, was identified as critical to the EUs future.

Can a healthy Europe also connect to a competitive one at the EU policy level? This will be discussed at the working group by exploring how improving chronic disease management and reducing the burden on healthcare professionals could enhance the resilience of healthcare systems, patient outcomes and a competitive pharmaceutical industry.

This event is by invitation only.
