New Circular Economy Act: what should the priorities be?

With the expected adoption of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) this autumn and the announcement of a new Circular Economy Act, the EU is expected to adopt and implement further legislative measures to ensure that all packaging is reusable and recyclable by 2030.

These new rules are expected to outline Design-for-Recycling requirements, complementing the already established targets for the separate collection, sorting, and recycling of material waste streams. Focusing on high-quality and permanent recycling will be crucial in achieving these objectives.
