Heavy-duty road transport is approaching a critical juncture. As the EU advances its decarbonisation agenda, the sector faces a fundamental tension: accelerating the shift to zero-emission vehicles while safeguarding Europe's industrial competitiveness.

The policy direction is clear. With binding CO₂ targets in place and pressure mounting to close the gap between political ambition and market reality, the debate has moved on from whether to decarbonise, to how to make the transition economically viable and scalable at pace.

This panel will examine how the EU can drive the decarbonisation of heavy-duty road transport while strengthening, rather than undermining, the competitiveness of its industrial base.
