International Women’s Day Talks

For the first time in the history of the continent, four major international institutions are simultaneously led by women: Ursula Von der Leyen at the helm of the European Commission, Roberta Metsola of the European Parliament, Kristalina Georgieva heading the International Monetary Fund and Christine Lagarde the European Central Bank.

In Brussels however, the recent European Parliament election has seen the number of women MEPs decreasing since last mandate (from 41% to 39%) – a number that had been steadily increasing up from 15% in the first 1979 mandate.1

What will the future Parliament bring, and how will its composition shape the future of inclusive policymaking?

Join us for our International Women’s Day Talks, where we bring together glass-ceiling breakers MEPs for a conversation that promises to inspire and catalyse change.

Our diverse line-up of MEPs will share their insights on legislative initiatives, policy frameworks, and the progress made in advancing gender equality across Europe. From addressing workplace disparities to championing women’s health and education, our speakers will also explore strategies to overcome the ongoing struggle for gender parity.

PM+ Talks is our exclusive members’ event series where leading figures in European and international politics join us to provide their insights and expertise.
